Stenders Cosmetics Review

Last weekend's visit to Rīga was planned not only to enjoy the spring in Latvia's capital, but also to replenish my reserves of "Stenders" cosmetics.

Few years ago "Stenders" production was also available in Vilnius, but for some reasons they moved out and now their closest shops are either in Latvia or in Poland (some of "Stenders" production you can find in Douglas, but it's far from what they offer in the original shops). Of course, there's always the option of online shopping, but I do not like to buy cosmetics on internet, especially, when I haven't tried it yet.

Sooo, my number one pick is, obviously, bath bombs (or bath bubble-balls). I bought cornflower, peony, linden blossom, cranberry and patchouli scented balls. Two of them (Linden blossom and cranberry) I have already tried out earlier this year.

Peony bath bomb

Sunday I tried out Peony scented bath bomb. The smell itself was not too strong or irritating, so I had some pleasant moments of relaxation. One of the things that I like the most about these bubbles is that after putting them into your water filled bath, they melt away without spreading bright artificially looking colors as bath bombs of some other brands do. It is advised to take your bath no more that 20 minutes. What I like afterwards is the feeling of fresh and pampered skin, because of various oils in the ball.

Another thing from "Stenders" that I'm fond of, is... soap. I already have one with linden blossoms, but I could not resist for this soap with lemongrass and oat grains - it's scent was too fresh and energizing to leave it on the shelf.

Sometimes I like to switch between shower gels and soaps. Well, they do not moisturize my skin so well as gels do, but then I can use body butter if I feel the need.

The lip balm was something new to me, so I gave it a try. It's smell (I chose grapefruit-quince scented one), again, is not irritating, on the contrary - I wish it could be more aromatic. The base of this balm is shea butter, so it leaves this greasy feeling on your lips. It's a bit too heavy for summer, but, in my opinion, it could be your go-to lip balm during winter.

And last, but not the least, I got few samples of other products and was happy to try them out! First, I splashed some EDT Pure Pearl and I was enchanted by it's fresh smell! I love citrus and wood based aromas, and this one is definitely right up my alley!
Overnight Recovery Mask with Royal Jelly is also worth your attention. I generously spread it on my face before going to bed and in the morning I felt that my skin felt much more firm and smoother that before. I can only guess what results you can get by using it more often, but this product definitely is on my "to buy" list.
Last sample was of the shampoo for colored hair. Again, I was fascinated by the smell! It does it's job pretty well, I have to admit that. The problem is, that I can use pretty much one brand of shampoo, since all the others immediately gives me the "greasy hair" look, so I am more than happy to find out, that there is another brand that I can use and don't be afraid that in the evening I would look like I haven't washed my head for weeks. So, hooray for this product too!

I like to think about "Stenders" as Baltic version of "The Body Shop", because all the products I tried are, without a doubt, quality ones and they claim to use natural products to create them. I know that next time in Rīga I will leave more euros than I ever did before :)
